Football Success

A huge congratulations to our under 11 girls football team who were runners-up in the Sainsbury's School Games Bradford Finals.

Before the Christmas holidays, the girls had played in a 12 team league and won every match! We are incredibly proud of them.  Their achievements didn't stop there.  Due to the girls winning their league, they qualified for the Bradford Finals.  This meant they would be playing schools from all across Bradford.

On Tuesday 1 March, the girls attended the Bradford Finals and played some superb football.  They had some tough matches as the quality of football was stronger than the previous round.  However, they were determined to succeed and didn't give up, even when things weren't going their way.  At one point, they were losing 2-1 but pulled it back to finish the game 3-3. Once again, the girls topped their league and progressed to the final.

This was a hard match against a fantastic team from Hothfield Primary School.  The girls played tremendously and as the final whistle blew the score was 2-1 to Hothfield.  The girls showed great sportsmanship at all times and represented our school in a fantastic manner.

It still isn't over!  The girls have their toughest competition yet to come.  As runners-up at the Bradford Finals they now go on to represent Bradford in the West Yorkshire Finals.  With this and another tournament still to come in May their season is far from over!

Well done and go girls!
